Bee Keeper in Art Doll Quarterly

Happy to say that my Doll B Keeper is included in the latest issue of Art Doll Quarterly magazine.

 This doll is up at Piedmont Craftsmen Gallery in Winston-Salem, NC if you want to see her.

It's always a really nice surprise to come home from work and pick up a favorite magazine and see my work. From dragging tail to chipper. My husband leaves magazines on the couch for me so I can drop and veg. (thank you Jody) And thank you to Jana Holstein for publishing my dolls.

Two New Figures: Florida CraftArt

Next week is spring break! (can you hear me yodeling with joy?) We're bringing a body of work up to Florida CraftArt in St. Petersburg so keep your eyes open for these kids. The single figure is the lovely Jasmine and the double figure is titled "It's What You Believe".  Notice her skirt is removable.

Their bathing suits are permanent clay. And they arrive with a stand and they hang on the wall.  Hope you like.

Hello. I was very naughty and didn't post this yesterday. I was out jogging, walking and enjoying the perfect winters day in South Florida. I am about to post images of the newer girls. Soft silky flowing hair, free standing and all that. Keep watching.

3 Easy Pieces: NIADA Conference

The last kiln was unloaded for the NIADA conference this morning. Three pieces are going to San Francisco and I have to decide which 3 out of a kiln full. I think for sure the Frenchie: Marie Antoinette with the white socks. (the name makes me think of the Frank Zappa song Dirty Love), and while she's a bit subdued I really like the black and white one (Lacie), and I think I really like the one with the orange life jacket (Aunt Margaret's).

Ive asked my husband to help me decide which ones to take but I think we all know how that'll go.

I won't listen.  I rarely do. LOL.

All Doll'd Up! The Magic of Art Dolls at Florida Craftsmen Gallery

If you're going to be near Tampa you MUST stop at Florida Craftsmen Gallery in downtown St. Petersburg. They have a great show coming up called All Doll'd Up: the Magic of Art Dolls.


The show runs from April 19-June 8, 2013. Opening Reception: Friday, April 19^th  5:30-8:30. I gave them an absolute PILE of new pieces. (22, but who's counting and that's on top of the last pile I gave them). For some reason I thought they told me to give tons and I delivered. You must get by the gallery, I gave some really sweet pieces.

Three of them seen here. Home, Racing Catbird and Love Angel. The top 2 are approximately 15 inches high and retail for $275 and the lower one is $90 and approximately 6 inches tall. She is sort of a talisman and feels really super nice in your hands. Or maybe since I sculpted them that's why they feel so good in my hands.
