My Big Doll Sculpt

I posted these on facebook but realized I should put them on my blog too. My latest big girl. She's got her wings in her hand.
She's got nest making materials in her pouch.
And here I am  crawling around on the floor doting on my ceramic daughter.
She's got moss on her feet and a tiara on her head.

You may not know I teach painting. This is an in class demo. When I find the time I paint too. Acrylic paint done in thin washes.

Russian Doll Collector Magazine Tutorial

I've got a sculpting tutorial coming out in Doll Collector magazine. Funny enough they emailed me a copy to proof. One slight problem. I don't speak Russian. For those of you who do, I hope you enjoy.

What do you think?

Just playing with ideas. I had sewn a bunch of clothing and made a bunch of wigs in the past few months that went into the "not for that figure" pile. So I took all of them and put them on a naked doll. Too weird even for me?

The first image is having fun in my favorite software addiction: Photoshop and the second is normal.

Mixing New and Old

Last post showed these kids all retro and I thought I'd show them in their natural light. The piece at the top is going to be for sale soon. Clay hair and all. The bottom figure is called Wonder. Because they remind me of Wonder Woman. And really, aren't we all wonder women?

Playing with Images

Having more fun with Photoshop. These are newer figures made to look super old.
