More of Northern New York

New York is lovely for sure.  A view of Otter Creek in Alex Bay and The Thousand Islands Bridge (connecting the US to Canada)
and The Saugerties Light house along the Hudson River.

It was a really nice vacation. So many ideas swimming in my head and a studio that's calling to me.

Bay House Artisan's Gallery Alexandria Bay, New York

My pieces have been delivered and installed in Bay House Artisan's Art Gallery.
The pieces were made for The Thousand Islands. A lot of castles, and river related themes.
When I had finished installing the double figure I walked into another room and I heard a little girl squeal with delight as she ran up to my piece and her mom snapped a pic. So if you're in Alex Bay stop by and visit the kids.

Into the Woods

For the first time in a week I have internet! Been staying with my sister in deep in the woods. Lots of inspiration all around me.
Jody watching a bald eagle flying around the lake.

My sister Virginia at her camp (this sand dune happens to be an ancient Native American burial mound). Great energy.
And lastly Rollie (my sister's dog) cooling off in Muskellunge Lake. So quiet here that there's only the sound of the wind and water. Heaven.

Ceramic Sculpture for July

Since getting back from California I have been making doubles (double figures). Lots of doubles. Got some nice influences from the West. The vibrant colors, the native and Spanish influence. If you saw my facebook page or the photo posted earlier from California I had this crazy pictures of a red wagon filled with cactus. That inspired this piece titled Dreamer.
The double figure and free standing figure have long braids inspired by native peoples, and the heart on the free standing figure reads "Love Is Love". Which it is. And that's that.

The trip to California

Balboa Park, San Diego

Outside the NIADA show and sale

Old Town, San Diego

Balboa Park, San Diego

Old Town, San Diego
The Sunset from 35,000 feet (in the airplane)

We're back! The conference was fantastic and I am now a full member of NIADA. What an honor to be associated with so many fantastic artists. If you're not familiar with NIADA artists, check out their web site.

We met a lot of really nice people, way too many to count. Big thanks to Stephanie Blythe for all the work she did. And I totally adored Neva Waldt, she makes great work and she totally helped me find my way. The pictures here are some of my favorites from the trip.
