Happiness Cups

Most of us can probably remember hearing our elders complain about how the world has gone to hell. It sort of seems like it has. So rather than belly aching about it, I have made happiness cups.

These cups can make you happy. Fill it with candy. Happy. Fill it with flowers. Happy. Fill it with vodka. Very happy.

Wishing you all a happy new year. Watch my Etsy shop for a lot of happiness cups. Hold good thoughts and believe it can get better.

Born to be Wild

Here's a new double figure called Born to be Wild. Sometimes my work can lean to a slightly darker vein. This one is just silly sweet. While I think I am sort of wild I am so not. I am totally Boring. These guys sort of play on that. I guess wildness is sort of like beauty:  in the eye of the beholder.
And I have fond memories of being a child and ogling Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit illustrations. So I drew my own Peter Rabbit type character.

The head on the right is so like a couple of my nephews. Funny how that happens. Hope you enjoy them.

Two Fresh Sculptures on my Etsy Shop

Two new babies. All clay hair, featuring my drawing and painting.
This first one is titled

I am the Captain of my Soul
and this one is Halfway There

Back to my studio to make more. These kids have hair made from clay for those of you who miss the old babies.

Now you see them, Now you don't

I posted these 4 pieces on Facebook and 2 sold. Yay! And one in my Etsy shop.

Double yay. Can I even tell you how much I am digging illustrating my dolls?

Seriously. I mean I love sculpting but I am Donkey Mad

for drawing and painting on my figures. (Donkey Mad? ... I think I like that. Sounds like a title for a new piece). The piece just above is titled Rose Mary's Bee Bee. Because it's got a baby carriage, roses, and bees on it. Perfect huh?
And of course I had to make an old school one. The stripes will never leave me. And I have 3 figures with clay hair going into a bisque tomorrow.

July Calendar

My apologies for being late, I was on an airplane flying across the Atlantic so I had a valid reason. The 4th of July is my favorite holiday because of the fireworks. Have a wonderful month.

Painting the Living Room: Again

If you know me at all you know I am LETHAL with a can of paint. I went to the store Home Goods and bought a blue rug and drapes and that sent me down a rabbit hole.
Then I said hmm. I think the accent wall which faces the image above (which you can't see in the pic up top) could use a little pop of drama. Here's drama how I see drama (below). I want to add a whole bunch of mirrors on the wall.
I've got 3 mirrors and two of my little sculptures there now. Do I love it? I think so, but I'll live with it and start hunting for mirrors. You like?

Sleepy on a Rainy Day

It's gray and rainy outside. I feel like this girl all sleepy and tired.  More coffee is needed.

Newer Sculpture

I put some of these on Etsy but I realized I didn't put them up here. How rude of me. This is Baby.
And this is drift. I am enjoying closed eyes. Remember people the answers are all inside. Listen to that voice in there.
And this is Pep. And I am planning on bringing a few of these to Florida CraftArt up in St. Petersburg next weekend. I do dread the drive. Arf. Maybe I'll try to ship them instead.  Decisions decisions.

My Big Doll Sculpt

I posted these on facebook but realized I should put them on my blog too. My latest big girl. She's got her wings in her hand.
She's got nest making materials in her pouch.
And here I am  crawling around on the floor doting on my ceramic daughter.
She's got moss on her feet and a tiara on her head.

Painting Demo

You may not know I teach painting. This is an in class demo. When I find the time I paint too. Acrylic paint done in thin washes.
